Jehovah Nissi is Hebrew for The Lord My Banner. What a comfort to know the Lord loves us so much that he is a personal banner over us.
The diagnosis of breast cancer leaves us with wobbly knees, clammy hands and a pounding heart. Our Jehovah Nissi places his banner over us to calm our emotional storm.
At night when we lie awake and cannot sleep, our Jehovah Nissi spreads his banner over us to give us rest.
When chemotherapy causes us to lose our hair, eyebrows and eyelashes, our Jehovah Nissi reminds us that his banner over us cannot be moved unless we move it. And our hair will grow back.
The fatigue of radiation may leave us dragging one foot in front of the other. Our Jehovah Nissi rescues us again. His banner over us gives us that boost of energy to keep going when necessary.
