From Stage Zero to Mastectomy

Have you ever heard of Stage Zero Breast Cancer?

Jackie Fox was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS). Her doctor said DCIS is very early stage—so early it’s classified as stage 0.

That sounds like good news, but it can become life-threatening if not treated. The treatment is the same as for more aggressive cancers.

Jackie fox wrote the book, From Zero to Mastectomy: What I Learned and You Need to Know about Stage 0 Breast Cancer. She writes with humor, honesty, and gratitude.

Jackie’s book was named Library Journal Best Consumer Health Book of 2010.

Jackie Fox’s book has a phenomenal chapter entitled: What You Need to Know: Interview with My Team. Her family doctor, oncologist, and plastic surgeon answer questions women are likely to ask. Sometimes they use Jackie Fox’s case as an example.
